New Year - more dogs

If last January is anything to go by this will be a busy time for BIN, we took in over 40 dogs during that month. This means 40 assessments having to be done, 40 foster places found, endless phone calls making arrangements, reading through questionairres sent in by prospective adoptive families and then of course homechecks, introductions, transport arrangements etc.
We have a good team of helpers who do what they can to make life easier for us. Lisa has the phone to her ear that much it is a wonder it isn't permanently attached!

I have an electrician coming at the end of the week to get the power put in my kennels to get the heating on in there and also lighting. Hannah's Palace as it is known (so called after it's first occupant, a lovely old girl who had been neglected resulting in various ailments, she lived out the rest of her life with me, and I made her kennel into a nice enviroment for her ) is now well insulated, has thick rubber flooring, insulated walls covered in plyboard. So once the power is in it will be well equipped for the pensioners, or those who need a bit more comfort. It is only a couple of yards from my back door, so is in a great place for observation too.
A big thanks goes to members of the Bullie Bar who raised the money to pay for these upgrades to the kennel, although originally it was done for Hannah unfortunately she passed away before the project was completed, but she will always be remembered and will live on in my heart.

I am expecting a young dog to be with me soon for assessing, a behaviourist will be involved if found necessary, then my other kennel which I usually keep for short stay emergencies will no doubt be filled before too much longer.

The calendars and diaries have been selling like hot cakes and it has been pretty difficult keeping up with demand, but I am suremost people have found them worth waiting for.

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL.
